As her collection expanded, Alyssa felt a deep desire to transform some of her treasures into beautiful jewelry that she could wear close to her heart wherever she went. Step One: Discovery
Alyssa and her family love to travel to Upstate New York for some fossil hunting. They always come home with some amazing treasures! Treasure can be found everywhere - especially at the beach. Alyssa finds many of her interesting rocks and fossils along the shoreline as well!
Step 2: Process, Sort & Create
In this step, Alyssa sifts through all of the dirt that she brought home from her digs and finds small fossils to add to her epoxy jewelry. Each fossil is cleaned thoroughly, sorted by size and stored. She also glazes the larger fossils in order to protect them. Her husband, Rick is very handy and helps her drill holes into any solitary fossils or rocks.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
Whether it is a simple polish, gold leaf or an extensive wire wrap, Alyssa tries her very best to accentuate the natural beauty of each and every treasure!
